Our Society
The San Gabriel Valley Optometric Society (SGVOS) has a long history of providing professional vision care, eye health care, and Optometric leadership.
The California Optometric Association (COA) was established in 1899 and shortly thereafter the SGVOS was formed as part of the profession of Optometry.
SGVOS have provided optometric leadership services to the American Optometric Association (AOA), and the California Optometric Association as well as Civic leadership in the many cities in the San Gabriel Valley area.
Being a part of our society also means that you are currently a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and California Optometric Association (COA). Here is what our society has to offer:
-
Quality continuing education courses at a convenient location – One major member benefit is access to CE events and workshops throughout the year at an affordable price.
-
Great networking opportunities – With more than 100 diverse members, the San Gabriel Valley Optometric Society provides the perfect platform to network with your peers.
-
Voice for the optometric community – We work closely with the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association to not only increase our collective scope of practice in the community for optometrists but also to represent our member's interests, concerns, or thoughts at the legislative level.
