Dr. Bryan L. Kimura is a Southern California native. Born in Los Angeles and growing up in Arcadia, CA, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at UC Riverside in 2012. While attending Western University College of Optometry, Dr. Kimura completed rotations at the Orlando VA, Hu Hu Kam IHS, Henry Ford Optimeyes, and Sichuan University before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2018. He then went on to complete an Ocular Disease residency at the Albuquerque VA with an emphasis on Glaucoma research.
After residency, Dr. Kimura began his career working with an Ophthalmologist in Santa Clarita for 2 years while filling in per diem at various private offices and sublease practices like LensCrafters and Walmart on the weekends in the San Gabriel Valley area.
In 2021, Dr. Kimura joined the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in the San Bernardino County service area and later transferred to the Orange County service area in 2022.
Dr. Kimura provides comprehensive eye examinations with a special interest in eye disease, contact lenses and co-management of cataract and refractive surgery. He is certified in the treatment of Glaucoma. Dr. Kimura is currently the President Elect of the San Gabriel Valley Optometric Society and a board member for the Asian American Optometric Society. He is also a member of the California and American Optometric Associations.
Deeply rooted to the outdoors growing up, as an Eagle Scout Award recipient, Dr. Kimura likes to spend his free time with activities like hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. He also enjoys traveling(especially to Japan) and trying new places to eat. Dr. Kimura besides being a life-long Star Wars fan (May the Force be with you), is a die hard Lakers fan who bleeds purple and gold. He will not be available during any NBA finals game in which the Lakers are participating.

Dr. Cao completed his bachelor of science degree in Chemistry at the University of Irvine, California. Soon after, he went on to continue his studies and earned his optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California. Pursuing his love for education, Dr. Cao then completed a residency in ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Healthcare System. He now practices in a private practice setting in the San Gabriel Valley area as an associate doctor.
Dr. Zhang completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at UCLA and received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California. During her time at SCCO, she served as the liaison for the COA student section. She currently sees patients in Pasadena and San Gabriel. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants in the area.

Dr. Nghe pursued her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California at Berkeley and completed her doctorate at the New England College of Optometry. She currently cares for patients at Clarity Advanced Optometry in Arcadia. When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys traveling to different parts of the world. Since the pandemic, she has restricted her travels to within the United States. She hopes to visit all fifty states by time the pandemic is a thing of the past!
Dr. Kanamoto earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. She currently practices in both Glendale and Alhambra in a private practice setting. In her free time, she enjoys staying active outdoors by running, snowboarding, playing basketball, going to Disneyland, and traveling with her family and friends.

Dr. Tsai completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She is currently in private practice with the South Pasadena Optometric Group. Outside of work, Dr. Tsai enjoys spending time with her husband and spoiling their little dog, Maisie.
Dr. Chang earned his bachelors of sciences in Physiological Sciences from UCLA. He attended UC Berkeley School of Optometry where he earned his Optometry degree. He completed his residency at SUNY College of Optometry in Pediatric and Infant Vision. He previously worked full-time at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. He now serves as an assistant professor with Southern California College of Optometry, working at the satellite clinic University Eye Center of Los Angeles.

Dr. Christopher Obi was raised in South Pasadena and has held numerous positions in the eye care field over the past 15 years. Dr. Obi is passionate about providing high-quality comprehensive eye care and ensuring that patients are thoroughly educated on their ocular health and vision. Dr. Obi completed his residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at Kaiser Permanente LAMC and is excited to be practicing in the San Gabriel Valley at Azul Vision. In his free time, Dr. Obi enjoys immersive travel, culinary tourism, and snowboarding.

Dr. Duan completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA and her graduate studies at Stanford University and her Doctorate of Optometry at Marshall b. Ketchum University. Dr. Duan practices at Blackstone Optometry in Los Angeles.

Dr. Lee Kim has been serving as a board member with SGVOS since 2018. She currently resides in South Pasadena and practices as an associate optometrist at South Pasadena Optometric Group. She received her Doctor of Optometry and bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. She completed an additional year of residency training at the Southern California College of Optometry fitting specialty contact lenses on complex and diseased corneas. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry as well as the Scleral Lens Education Society. In her free time, she enjoys being active by working out and going on hikes with her husband and their dog.
